Looking for a sweet treat that's close to campus? Afters Ice Cream is less than five minutes away from APU’s campus. Afters Ice Cream is handcrafted and revolutionizes the ice cream market with a multitude of unique flavors to choose from! 

After a long day of studying and preparing for midterms, why not reward yourself with a sweet treat? If you’re an ice cream, sundae, float, milkshake, or milky bun lover, Afters Ice Cream is for you.

When you get there, you are presented with a very diverse array of flavors to choose from,m like cookie butter, chocolate chip cookie, dark chocolate brownie batter, Madagascar vanilla, jasmine milk tea, frozen hot cocoa, and other flavors. With a variety of flavors to choose from, it was hard not to like more than one.

Before buying ice cream, I sampled chocolate chip cookies, triple c's, cookie monster, and mocha flavor. According to the Afters Ice Cream employee, Cookie Monster seems to be one of the biggest sellers.

Afters Ice Cream creates flavors that are geared towards everyone’s sweet tooth. If you’re more of a strawberry lover, you can try the strawberry cookie crunch flavor. They even have a flavor known as Santa's milk and sugar cookies. Some flavors are exclusive to the Afters Ice Cream location and cannot be found on the website.  

My favorite flavors were the Triple C's and Mocha. Since I was torn between the two, I was offered the option to have 2 scoops or a half-and-half mix of each flavor. 

The chocolate chip cookie flavor is a plant-based, vegan chocolate chip cookie ice cream mixed with a combination of house-made vegan chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chips, and chocolate swirl.

The triple c’s ice cream flavor is mixed with chocolate chips, chocolate fudge, and caramel in a vanilla base. This flavor has an exquisite taste. One that is hard to put into words. It’s a must-try flavor if you’re a caramel lover. Afters Ice Cream’s website provides a further look at their flavors with descriptions to match. 

When ordering ice cream, you are also presented with the option of a cup, sugar, or waffle cone. After choosing your flavor, Afters Ice Cream offers a wide selection of toppings, such as Oreos, Captain Crunch cereal, After Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, cookie crisp, gummy bears, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, m&ms, peanuts, mochi sprinkles, Tajin powder, and chamoy.

For 1 scoop of ice cream, the price is $5.50; 2 scoops is $7.50; 3 scoops is $9.00; and half and half is an additional $0.75. 

If you want to try something new, Afters Ice Cream offers more than just ice cream to cater to your sweet tooth. Ice cream sundaes are also on the menu for $6.25, floats are $7.50, and milkshakes are $8.75.

After ice cream is changing the game with their Milky Buns, which is what they’re most known for. What are they? Their milky buns are an iconic marriage between hot and cold. In addition, there is a strong marriage between sweet and even sweeter. Their Milky Buns are like imagining a large mound of ice cream embellished with crunchy toppings, then sandwiched between two warm glazed doughnuts. Afters Ice Cream is changing the game in the ice cream world and truly revolutionizing the industry. Their milky buns are $7.00, which includes toppings.

I failed to mention that you can also get it in pint size. If you’re interested in ordering a pint of your favorite ice cream flavor, Afters Ice Cream provides most of their most iconic flavors in the form of a pint. Pint prices on their website are $12.00. However, you have to purchase their pints in a bundle. You can make a bundle of four, six, or nine flavors with their pints. Afters Ice Cream is open from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and Fri-Sun: 12 PM-12 AM. Besides their Azusa location, they also have 20+ successful locations around Southern California.
